A Girl Can Dream…

Happy Friday!  Happy Last Day of the Month!  Happy Foodie Pen Pals Reveal!

Wait a minute.

Scratch that last one.

There will be no reveal today.

Cue “Sad Face” –  much better than an emoticon.

Unfortunately, my Foodie Pen Pal package did not arrive in time for me to post about it.

**But you can go here to check out what I sent Krysty!**

Ah, well, life goes on…

Oblah Dee, Oblah Dah.

…and rather than let this post go completely to waste, I’ve decided to let you all (and my future Foodie Pen Pals) in on what my Dream Foodie Pen Pal Package would contain.  Here goes…

First of all, there would most definitely be nut butters

Preferably Justin’s.

…I also LOVE me some trail mix….

Emerald is good but I’m an equal opportunity trail mix lover.

jerky of any kind is amazing…

I am not vegan but this stuff is so good it sort makes me question my omnivore-ness.

…and any kind of crunchy, snacky, chippy thing is always a delight.

The Cheesy Jalapeno flavor is The Bomb.

However, I hope to never receive chocolate…

Don’t break me off a piece of that.

…or coconut…

I got nothin’…

…cause, call me crazy, but I don’t like those things.

Anywho, regardless of the fact that I did not receive my package on time, Foodie Pen Pals is still an awesome program.  Here are the deets in case you’re interested…and you should be…cause it’s cool.

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!

-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!

-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

-Foodie Penpals is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.

  1. This is a really cute post idea….hopefully you get your foodie penpals package {better late than never} rather than your FPP being flakey.

  2. I didn’t get mine either! I should have done a post like yours.

    • Bummer! This is the first time I haven’t gotten the package on time. Pretty good track record for seven months of participating. Guess there’s a first time for everything :).

      • I’m hoping it’s just lost, my person sent it on the 13th but didn’t get a tracking number (always get a tracking number!!) Lately I’ve had 2 things get stuck somewhere mysteriously, so I’m hoping that’s the problem here, and it’ll arrive eventually. Once I mail something to New Haven and it ended up sitting in NJ for a week. What’s up with that, USPS?!

  3. Everyone should post about what their dream package would be. It would make things much easier. 😉

  4. My FPP dream would probably include being all alone, rolling a large doughnut, and a snake with a vest……… but I usually have pretty weird dreams.

  5. Hi my former FPP! That sucks you didn’t get your package! The same thing happened to me last month. It got lost in the mail. I really love this post though. Great idea!

  6. Gal R

i’m sorry you haven’t gotten your package yet! i keep forgetting that you are not the biggest chocolate fan- chocolate is flippin’ fantastic 😉

  7. I didn’t get my package yet either! That’s okay though – I love this post though I love chocolate and coconut!
